Rufus Ward appreciated for work in Local History

Rufus Ward's celebration

Rufus Ward's Celebration

Library staff had punch and cake in celebration of Special Project Researcher Rufus Ward’s hard work and dedication to The Local History Room.  Over the last sixth months, Ward has been busy researching and compiling a guidebook to the history and evolution of the Lowndes County government records dating back to the early 1800s.  It will be essential for future researchers in understanding how to access the Lowndes County court records located in the Billups-Garth Archives.

Rufus has also assisted with patron reference questions as well as working on portions of an inventory for the Billups-Garth Archives vault.

Thank you Rufus for all of your excellent work and witty humor!
