Chickasaw County Historical and Genealogical Society would like to invite your group, and any others who would like to come, to our meeting at 7p.m. on August 20, at the Houston Civic Center, in the Joe Brigance Park, across the street (Starkville Road) from the High School. This is where our Flywheel Festival takes place, so many of you may know where it is located.
Nancy Sullivan, of Okolona, will present a one woman Southern Heritage program, playing the part of Kathryn O’Sullivan , who lived in Okolona during the Civil War. She goes from being an old lady, telling her story, to being a young woman living during that period. I have seen her present this program and it is great. Nancy is a retired school principal and now works for the State Educational Dept. The Chickasaw County Dulcimer group will present a short musical program preceding Nancy’s presentation.
I think I can assure you that this program would be well worth your drive and time, and we would love to have all of you attend. There will be no admission charge.
