Recording African American Genealogy

Have you asked yourself, “Why can’t I find anything about my people in my county’s heritage book?” In addition, don’t you wish that your ancestors had left behind a narrative of their own lives, rich in details about the people, places, and things that were most important to them?

In celebration of it’s 30th anniversary, the Afro-American Genealogical and Historical Society of Chicago (AAGHSC) will be publishing a Heritage Book: a collection of biographical sketches, church and family histories, life events, memorials, oral histories, and much more.

AAGHSC is now accepting submissions from across the country. For more information on pre-orders, submittal guidelines and deadlines, and sample stories, please visit our website at www.aaghsc.org. Please direct any questions to aaghsc@yahoo.com.

Years from now, imagine your family’s joy when they discover that you’ve left them a gift that money can’t buy.
