“Archives for All” Workshop at USM Gulf Coast

“Archives for All,” a series of inexpensive, training workshops on basic archival preservation and digitization, will be held on May 20 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at the University of Southern Mississippi Gulf Coast Campus, Advanced Education Center, room 302.

The workshop will train individuals on how to preserve archival materials, as well as, introduce the basics of digitizing your collection for online presentation.

If you are responsible for safeguarding the photographs, documents and memorabilia of your archives or library, you have the responsibility of an archivist, but you feel additional training is needed, this workshop may be for you.

Registration is $20, payable to LAMA. Space is limited; registration is required and there will be no on-site registration.

Deadline for registration is May 18th.

The workshop will be led by Angela Balius and Shugana Williams from USM.

The workshop is sponsored through an IMLS grant project to establish sustainable program of archival training opportunities for staff and volunteers in historical repositories in Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama.
