The Billups-Garth Archives at the Columbus-Lowndes Public Library Re-opens to its Regular Hours

The Billups-Garth Archives located in the Local History Room at the Columbus-Lowndes Public Library will re-open to its regular hours starting Monday August 16.

The hours at the Local History Room will return to the following:

Monday: 9am-5pm

Tuesday: 9am-6pm

Wednesday: 9am-5pm

Thursday: 9am-5pm

Friday: 9am-4pm

The summer hours allowed staff to work on numerous projects such as processing collections, department manuals, and updating the security of the archives. 

Archivist Mona K. Vance said, “We truly appreciate our patron’s cooperation during our summer hours.  The various projects we focused on will only enhance the research experience and opportunities for those learning about the history of Lowndes County and the genealogy of its people.”

Until August 16, the Local History Room is open in the afternoons beginning at 12:30pm Tuesday through Friday.
