Family Papers donated to Billups-Garth Archives

Elayne Goodman recently donated some of her family materials to the Billups-Garth Archives.  Many items are from her father’s family, the Frank’s. Included are newspaper clippings, photographs, family trees, and scrapbooks.

One item is a scrapbook created by Richard O. Franks on the history of the Tabernacle United Methodist Church.  It includes correspondence, photos, articles, and other items relating to the church and its annual camp meeting.

Other items include a 1931 New Hope High School Diploma for Marie Elizabeth Franks, newspaper clippings on Rural Hill School, photographs and letters relating to WCBI broadcaster Bob McRaney, a photograph of the Seminole Factory in the 1940s, photographs of the Women’s Market held by the Mississippi Home Demonstration Club in the 1940s, and more.

The collection can be found at the Archives with the number #2011-2.
