Four Seasons Garden Club donates scrapbooks

The Four Seasons Garden Club recently donated seven scrapbooks to the Billups-Garth Archives at the Columbus-Lowndes Public Library.  The scrapbooks range from 1957 to 2010 and include newspaper clippings, photographs, club rosters, and much more.  They document various activities and events that the club attanded or participated in.

The club was organized in January 1957 and consisted of “young marrieds, interested in everything from partying to creating charming homes.”

The first officers included Mrs. Ray McEwen, president; Mrs. Herman Crowder, secretary; Mrs. Edward Schweizer, treasurer;  Mrs. Douglas Stone, librarian; and Mrs. Bob Russell, reporter.

The collection is currently found under the accession number 2011-35 at the Billups-Garth Archives.
