Missionary Union Baptist Church

The Missionary Union Baptist Church was organized in 1833, making it the oldest African American church in northeast Mississippi. The church was chartered in 1867, but continued to meet in the basement of First Baptist Church until 1871 when they moved to their current location at 1207 Fifth Avenue North. Soon afterwards, they built the structure seen here that is still used by its members today.
