Ninety-nine years ago this month…

136_Taken from Hotel downtown_March 1914_MS 254 B1A local amateur photographer captured the above image from the rooftop of the former Gilmer Hotel this month in 1914.  Below one can see a bustling and paved Main Street filled with wagons, horses, and cars.  Only the two structures on the left, the Masonic Building and the former Dotherow and Jones Meat Market, still exist.
